System Restore not working

HI all

I tried to do a system restore on my comp with win XP SP2,i selected a restore point and the computer restarted but after restart it came up with a message saying that restore cannot be completed, what could be the reason, can someone pls explain this to me !! why did it fail, is there any other go apart from last known good configuration ?? :confused:

Have always found Sytem Restore to be a very blunt and bloated tool. Suggest using imaging as a better method of being able to restore your system. You can then use System Restore (with as small amount of space as possible) if you are determined to keep it for "quickie restores" in the knowledge that you can always go back in time to an earlier image file.
