Hi, I can not start my system (to be truthful , it started once today but just went to the first beep and stop), the symtoms are as follows:
1.no reaction at all when pressing power switch,or
2. it starts up a bit but never reaches the first beep and then goes dead and can never start again.

The first indication of trouble is that the light on the keyboard , which should be always on , had gone . PLEASE HELP.

My system :
ATX Mother board :P6STP-fl
Celeron 600
10g
128m

thanks

Could possibly be a Motherboard battery passing into the sunset! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif How old is the motherboard?

hi whyzman.

thanks but dont think so. the m/b was made in mid 00 and I have once able to enter the bios setup , seems all the data were there.

If the problem is only related to the psu, i can simply replace with a new one but again, why if the problem is from m/b or cpu ?

do you have means to check the psu? i have a voltage tester but do not
know how to get on with it due to lack of powers layout info.
