BIOS - AntiVirus ?

Before doing a clean Install of XP Home Edtn -I disabled the AntiVirus in the BIOS - haven't put it back on yet

What does it actually do?

The Bios anti virus will warn you when or If a program attempts to write to the boot sector of your hard drive.
If you are running another anti virus program in auto protect mode.
You may not need to enable the bios antivirus setting.
In fact having it enabled will interfere with some software anti virus programs.
