Hi All,

What is the eaiest way to add XP Pro to my system.
Drive C win 2000 NTFS, Drive D NTFS Empty.
I want to keep win 2000 on drive C and dual boot the system.

Thanks,

kfh.

Boot with the XP CD in the drive and be careful which drive/partition you install XP to. The screen that offers the choice of drives should have them clearly listed, I think with drive letter, and the file system will be listed too (FAT or NTFS). Read that screen very carefully to be sure you do not overwrite your existing Windows installation, after that it's no problem at all. If the second drive is the one you want to use, I like to be sure it's partitioned and formatted beforehand, the drive manufacturer's installation software does it a lot quicker than the Windows setup does. Setup will ask if you want to format it or leave it alone. The installation of XP will add an entry to the bootloader and on final reboot you should get a prompt asking which OS to boot into. It's not difficult at all, just be sure to pay close attention to the onscreen prompts and do not overwrite your existing OS.

I'll try that over the weekend.
