Toshiba owners, do I need these?
I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite laptop M 35 X series and there are numerous programs running in the System Tray. What can I disable and still having all the standard functions. Here is my list.

Wireless network connection
Local area connection
Toshiba touch and launch
local area connection network cable is unplugged. Wireless network connection
Extreme graphics 2 four mobile
Touch pad on
Easy button
CD/DVD drive acoustic silencer
Touch pad
Toshiba resuming utility
V.92 modem on hold app

The items dealing with the wireless and wired network connections are not actually programs that are running in the background. They are just indicators of the network connection status. You can turn them off if you like, either way it doesn't make a difference.
