DirectX 9.0c, cannot install?

hello, i have DirectX 9.0c in the cd, but when i try install , it just quickly shows that all components are installed and ready for use. But it actually didn't install it. I'm using Windows XP SP2 . I can install DirectX 9.0b but not the Direct X 9.0c. WHy ??

This can happen if you already have it installed or if it a corrupted installation file.

If you're running Windows XP SP2 most likely you already have 9c installed. You can check your version by running "dxdiag" in the Run command box. This should bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool with the System Tab open. Look for the line indicating DirectX Version.

i have a question here, Windows XP x64 using what direct x?? any other problem with that windows ?? I'm planning to upgrade to that windows.
