I used an application that deletes duplicate files and then when I tried to access Firefox I got the message that I could not access because js3250.dll
could not be found. A number of other apps can also not be accessed and this same message appears. I found js3250.dll on the web and downloaded it to my desktop but have no idea how to install it. Also, if I go to Add Remove programs, firefox still appears and all the links and shortcuts and files for firefox still exist but can not be accessed becausethe js3250.dll is missing. I reaalize these may all just be "pointers" and that the Firefox data is all lost, however, firefox is still taking up the same amount of diskspace so it exists somewhere. I am not advanced enough to work in the Registry. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, John

WELCOME to the forums
Have you tried to re-install FF over the top of its-self? This should replace any missing files for you. Also make certain that you have the latest version which at the moment is Ver 1.06.

Imagine this was a car, and you'd removed the distributer head, or all the spark plugs. :(

The car engine wouldn't run and the car would go nowhere.
The car still exists.
The engine still exists.
All the linkages from accelerator and steering wheel are still there, but some vital part is missing.

That's what you did; you removed a vital part of firefox, so it will no longer work.
Replace the vital part and it will work once again.

Replacing it would be easy if you had a backup of the contents of the partition.
If you didn't know what you'd done wrong [you wouldn't need to know] you'd just restore the whole of the partition as it was when all was well. [It only takes me 15 minutes to restore the contents of my 3,000MB C: partition.]

If the file is zipped, unzip it to its own folder then copy it to the Firefox data folder and since it seems to be affecting other programs, to the folder all the other DLL files are stored. Usually the main system folder which would be C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 for XP. Reboot.

Then open a command prompt [Start\Programs\Accessories\Command Prompt] and use regsrvr to "register" the dll with the OS. The command to use would be

regsvr32 js3250.dll then press [Enter].
