Welcome to the PC Guide forums!

Personal preference actually, both work pretty darn well.
Three firewalls that are recommended:
ZoneAlarm
Kerio
Sygate

Yes,the second of those is good,stealthy,steady& reliable,oh & free.All firewalls are
biult on the same code so objectively there isn't much difference.Subjectively it's
really how user friendly, convenient and apparently secure they are. Some function
better than others, have better GUI's and give more feedback. The only one I'd never use is Windows XP because it allows all outgoing traffic without question.

XP firewall will aslo allow malware to send out info to whom-ever it wants, and you will have no idea that it is doing so. Even MS reccommed that you use a third party firewall for added security.

It really is a matter of taste. I personally prefer Sygate. It is way better than Zone-Alarm. Z/A is a pain in the A?? It updates all of the time. Instead of updating like an AV it requires an uninstall and re-install.

Alot of people like Kerio. I found Sygate to be the best. You will NOT go wrong with any of them.
