I rang Ernie and sang "Happy Birthday" to him down the phoneline. :)
That had him laughing fit to bust. :D
Keep those high spirits Ernie, and have many more happy birthdays.

Thanks guy/gals
I have been told that variety is the spice of life and I am now of an age where I can change my name to HIENZ
(For those of you who are to young or knowest not of which I speak i will let some one else enlighten you)
And yes Sylvander did serenade me down the phone. A hideous experience! :D :D (not being seranaded - just him being a he and not a she and having a voice that was rejected from the cat's choir) ;)

I don't know Ernie, seems as though we've a generation coming up that just has no respect for elderstatesmen....
So maybe we're not as cute as we used to be...we're still debonare, witty, inteligent and mature. And don't forget crafty and cunning! ;)

i am 56 years old but i never seen anyone younger than me respecting me
maybe I sound young and people think i am young.
But being called young, immature is always better than 60 year old jerks, anyone wants to be old anyway?

Ernie--I'm not going to sing Happy Birthday to you over the phone like Sylvander did. So, I'll just wish you a happy birthday :) .

Not to be outdone by Sylvander, I practiced all day yesterday. One sec, la la la la la la la la lah!
Here goes...Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Ernie! Happy Birthday to you...and many more!
As you can tell I'm a natural baritone. I hope you liked the falsetto and then the drop and slight trill with the "and many more!"
I'm sure it was much easier on the ears than Sylvander's attempt! :D

You will have to sing it again because the battery in my hearing aid ran out just as you started to sing.m no respect for elderstatesmen.... and what do you mean by that statement? I will have you know that I am not a statesman and as I do not go to church I cannot be an elder.

That photo is actually Sylvander.
A closer likeness can be seen here http://www.fabuloussavers.com/wallpapers/84_Handsomeguy_hunks_freecomputer_destkopwallpaper _x.shtml

Do you realise that I sat beside the phone all day yesterday waiting on your phone call. I replaced the batteries in my hearing aid especially for it.

Indeed, I'm not happy with Ernie getting older at all...I think after you hit 50 you should get younger every year...that's only fair with all the wear and tear the learning curve puts you through getting to the big five-O...

Do you think he will refund the cost of the paper tissues I used to wipe away the tears of dissapointment, or is he too miserly?

It sure is funny how people change. The photo I sent you is from when I was 7 years old. But the one you found, Sylvander, is my wedding picture. I've often wondered why my wife wanted her mother to accompany us when we went on our honey-moon. Now if you look at the 5th picture in that gallery, you will find a picture of me on the first night of our honey-moon. :D
