wireless desktop adapter question

I have a dell 4400 and a 9200 notebook hooked up wireless.
if i build a pc and use a celeron processor, will a wireless desktop adapter work? since the 4400 and the 9200 ae pentium 4?

what kind of wireless adapter? USB/PCI? I think it should work. My PC is a AMD Duron 700MHz and PCI wireless adapter works fine.
