Testing/removing for a virus video (Re my videos project)

One of the videos I want to make is to show how to remove a virus from the comuter using (any) AV program installed. I know that there are some infections that can't be removed using AV software but this will be as a general reference.

I will be wanting to infect my computer with the eicar test file to enable me to show how to remove it. Could someone (one of the spyware virus romoval gurus) check out the link below (to eicar website) to ensure that it is a genuine link before I actually download the test file. Also which will be the best file to download to give a full effect.

as to what file to download.

If you turn off your AV you can d/l any file you like and set it up for the demo/video

You will get a message from your AV once it is activated again and you run or access the files

So to dowload this file I will have to disable my AV sotware????

Yes.

if you don't the AV will detect and delete it

You can then copy it to a removeable disk of some sort ( Floppy , cd, what ever)
Then when you start your project just add the file and record the actions
