My computer OS is Windows XP Pro SP2 . I have a SCSI CD writer HP 9600si. All IDE were ‎busy, CD-ROM, Zip 100 and two HD. I wanted a faster CD writer and DVD so I ‎replaced the AOpen CD-Rom with Nec DVD RW ND3520AW. This new hardware is ‎working properly but Windows does not recognize any more the HP-9600si SCSI CD ‎writer. It does recognize the SCSI bus but it shows nothing attached to it. I need it ‎because I want to have the possibility to work with two CD’s at the same time.‎
Does anybody have a suggestion how to resolve this? HP technical support did not ‎know what to do.‎

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

I am assuming you have a SCSI card that your writer is attached to? I would try shutting down and removing the drive from the card. Reboot, shutdown, and then re-attach the drive and see if Windoze recognizes it then...
