Is this the card I need to connect my PC to a cable modem or do I need a completely different card?
Also, will this card work for connect both my PCs (both have card) to the same cable modem or do I need a router?

Any ethernet card would be fine. You should get a router to share the connection. Please advise if you need help securing your network.

How did you do it, that way others can benefit from your experience.

I went to Best Buy and spoke with the geek there. I purchased a Lynksys Router and a PCI card for my pc. It was pretty easy after that (except that the router was being picky about the cable I was using - it wanted me to use the one that came with it!)
The router had a disc that explained how to connect it. I love how fast it is now!
Thanks for all the help.

Ya gotta love those BestBuy geeks
I'm too harsh. He did recommend a good brand of router.
