--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm very frustrated with Linksys tech support. All they can do is read the protocols.

I need some help.

I have a Wireless Router (WRT54G) and a Dell Notebook with a compatible Wireless Notebook Adapter (WPC54G). The router firmware has been updated.

The connection is good and I can browse the Internet.

When I restart the laptop, I cannot connect unless I have windows "repair" the connection. This is one of the options on the connection. When it repairs the connection, it disables the wireless adapter card and resets all the IP and DNS and Net Bios connections. If I allow windows to repair the card, everything is fine.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Somehow the configuration of this connection is lost or defaulting to something else when my laptop is shut off.

Thanks????

Do you have a local area connection built into the motherboard, eg, an ethernet port. If you do, you need to disable the local area connection in My network places to allow the wireless to activate correctly.

The problem seems ton have been that the network was unsecured. As a result, Windows would not connect automatically, despite my directions to do so.

Thanks All
