I had been researching about this for a week now but cant find a good info.
I have a final fantasy ix game but I think it is now bad. The game crashes during fmv. can i burn a new cd without this fmv. I dont want to buy a new one for its not a cheap thing

That would be an interesting activity... but casually, no. Usually, the movies are stored within big giant DAT or BAT files and you'd have to alter a significant amount of the game's code to bypass those movies, not to mention put a new copy protection back onto the game for reburning. At the point of altering the game's code, you could have just fixed the original problem. ;)
I would suggest contacting the publisher and getting them to send you a new CD (or many as the case may be). You will pay S&H, and you'll need your original receipt and proof of purchase, but it's far cheaper and easier than any other option.

Why get a PS2 now? Get a PS3, if you can wait and have enough $$$.
