Hi.
I'm really new to this -- can't seem to fix my internet connection!
I have a Dell truemobile 2300 router, two laptops, and two desktop computers attached to it, with a DSL modem. All but the one Dell 600 m laptop are working fine. The laptop gets this error when trying to connect "this connection has limited or no connectivity" when I hit repair, it tells me that it can't renew my IP address. I have tried a number of things based on reading some posts:
1) I have turned off router, DSL modem, etc and turned back on
2) I have tried the winsock fix, which didn't work
3) I have tried the SP2 patch, which also didn't work
4) I have changed my network card speed (or something like that) to 10 mbs/full, still didn't work
5) I checked all connections, everything is fine, and all other computers work fine
6) I checked everything in the device manager and everything is working fine
7) i have tried running the cmd prompt -- ipconfig/release and then ipconfig/renew -- after the renew command I get an error message -- it can't connect with the dhcp server

Any idea what I should do now?

Thanks
Sara

Is the network card built in, if it is, have you read this (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39746) post. It could be just that simple.

Hi -- I do not have an on/off switch on my laptop for wireless. I looked!

Is this a new PC that has always worked or is it an old PC that worked before and now has stopped connecting?

This has worked for an extended period of time -- almost a year.. and then it suddenly stopped working. Actually, all of the computers on the network stopped working.. so I re-ran network setup wizard... so now the two desktops and one (Toshiba) laptop are working fine, it's just my computer, a Dell 600m laptop that isn't working.

I had simillar problems, and it turned out, that I had some damaged TCP/IP entries in the windows registry. This util fixed it. :

i don't know if this will help, but if you're using a Dell, they offer this solution in their own support site.

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&cs=19&docid=E8B190FA5833E858E030030ABD620A4C&journalid=18D2E0B11F5711DAB2F2394BDF9E13EF&l=en&s=dhs#en#us

worked for me.
