I installed 2*512mbs of RAM onto my Gigabyte K-8NS PRO motherboard but when I go onto my computer its says that I have only got 256mb of RAM. :confused:

All help appreciated :)

u sure u plugged then in all the way
and did u chek if they r compatible with ur pc
i can help u if u give me the name of ur ram and wut pc u have

It's either that mobo only sees single sided ram, or only one is working.

I suspect the ram.

I am using memory recommended by Crucial technology for use with my motherboard. I think I have pushed the memory in far enough becuase the clips on the side go down.

ok have u checked how much ram ur cpu can withstand
thur is a limit if u didnt know

yes my motherboard has a limit of 3GB

i think u shuld send ur ram back and get some new ones maybe they are broken or something

Test it first, with Memtest86 (http://www.memtest.org/#downiso). Get the floppy one precompiled if you have a floppy or the iso to put on cd if you don't.
