I enjoy reading and posting in the forums... I am now kind of glad I had a computer problem a couple of years ago or I might not have found this place.... I have learned a great deal from reading and watching as users helped each other...
So this is kind of like a birthday of sorts......
Happy Birthday!!! :)

And may there many more years to come. :)
I have been around for about a year and a half, and have learned things I never would have imagined I could.
Thanks Charles. And thanks to all the excellent members that I have been helped by and learned from.

5 years? Wow...I knew it was around this time but never thought about it.
I've been around for all but the first few weeks, I think the member count was around 489 or so when I signed on. It's been a long, strange trip but I don't think I'd change a thing if I had to do it all over again...Ok maybe I wouldn't let BB66 and FTT razz me about being bald so much... :D
A couple of weeks and I'm looking at a 5 year anniversary too, never dreamed it would one day be as great as it is now, I did hope when I originally assumed duties as moderator that with a lot of help I could sete things on the path to the kind of community it is today, but never expected it to actually carry itself along the way it did once the general idea took hold...for a long time about all I had to do was move a thread here and there to the proper section of the forums, "playing boss" was something that only happened on rare occasions rather than being a constant chore. It still pretty much does the same, but the spammers keep several moderators busy cleaning up...
That said, I guess this is a great time to once again say I think we have the best group of people on the net, there's no better tech support forum I know of, and the bulk of the credit goes to the long time regulars who have kept the atmosphere on the forums friendly and "professional" so to speak, while still having a sense of humor and a community frame of mind. It's like sitting around the table having coffee with old friends...Thanks to all of the people who have donated LOTS of time and knowledge to making the PC Guide Discussion Forums simply the best place on the Internet, especially those few who are still around from the first year or so. They were the original die-hards who believed in the forums and wanted the kind of quality and atmosphere we have now and were not about to give up on it or let anyone spoil it.
I've seen some people who are still with us doggedly scrounging up info from anything Google could turn up at 3AM to get a handle on a tough problem. And rarely have we had to resort to reinstalling the OS to fix anything...That's why we're 5 years old and still growing. I've seen more people pop in here with questions and end up telling these people this is the best help site around than any other forum site I've checked out while looking up info. I've never seen another with the kind of atmosphere and attitude we have either, you can come here and get great help, have a good time in the process, and if your 8 year old pops in and looks over your shoulder, you're not worried about what kind of language he'll see, he won't be learning any new four letter words here...
Thanks to everyone for a great 5 years and I hope to see the forums still alive and kicking in another 5.

That 8 year old kid part is awesome. :D
Before this, I was a member of the obnoxious, very rude CyberTech Help forums.
They treated me like dirt, (oops, 4 letter word). I purposely got myself banned from that place by posting in everything, "FORMAT THE HARD DRIVE!"
Ha ha. I still laugh at that. Yes, this is the place to be.
It's nice...so nice...to be.

5 years... Wow. I've been here for 3, I think... Yeah, I posted that 3-year anni for myself! :D
Lots has happened in the 3 years that I've been here. I can't imagine what it was like 5 years ago, in the "dark ages" of the forums. :p So what, that was just after Y2K, huh? Geez, that was a long time ago... Computers continue to change more and more, but I like the fact that the forums has stayed pretty much the same. Just bigger.
A few have come and gone, but we still have the best crew around. That's always good to know. And it's a lot of fun being among the best on the net!

THanks, Whyzman. The picture quality was very bad, because I had to lower the .jpeg quality to 25% I used Photoshop to make the image, used the "Rage Italic" font.
I used MGI Photouite 8.0 for the quality.

Well I just Signed up today and have been surfing around the forum for a couple hours at this point, lord only knows how much longer I'll be on here. I've seen all of the different people interacting with one another on a 'friend' basis. Its already been beneficial to me. Just a little disapointed I wasn't here a year ago!
So thanks already Pete for a wonderful, helpful and fun forum. Best I've seen yet. (I've been looking for a few weeks)
