cd read error

Hello there. I was wondering if anyone knows what it means when i get a small error window titled "CD audio error" and says that the cd is not in drive when i try to play some certain games. My platform is windows Me. Is there a way around this. Thanx

The first thing I would do is run a CD drive cleaner and check for dirty/scratched disks...also if the ones that aren't working are "backups" try them in a different drive, some drives have trouble reading "backups".
