Hello all,

Background: Our volunteer EMS agency is changing it's protocol. We are adopting protocol from another nearby agency that has supplied us with a PDF file, 152 pages that needs editing.

What we want is to be able to convert this document to Microsoft Word so it can be edited. I have tried several "Free" programs but none of them worked, meaning that they stripped the "Style" from the document. There are several ".bmp's" in the document that were omitted in the conversion and all justification was lost as well.

It could be that we are asking too much from a converter. I went the Abode's site and tried to see if their software would do it, but it wasn't mentioned there.

So, at this point we've given up on the free software and have resigned ourselves to the fact that we will need to shell out some cash. Any thoughts on which software we need?

Thanks, Bumpus

Bumpus,
I would think it may be better to use a pdf editor program than to convert into Word. Just my 2 cents.

A halfway decent OCR program will conver the PDf's to Word docs for you and save the bit maps and the formatting.

Here is a google link for shareware and freeware to tryout
