I have tried some of the mailboards (available at my location)with my processor but the system denied to boot. So can anyone tell or if he had seen/heard of some Mainboard which should be with 4x/8x AGP slot running with this processor.

Or Can anyone list one/some Mainboards.

My Processor is:

Model: Intel pentium 4 cpu 1,7GHZ
Perpormance rating:PR1870
Pakage:FCPGA478
FSB:400MHZ
Generation::G8
Name: P4W(willamette) Pentium 4 180 nm
L2 cache: 256kb

I am looking forward for good suggestions.
...... :) Thanks in Advance :) .......

I am looking for some Agp 4x/8x board to fit my processor. Will it not be better that i put a PCI card into my present board.

Which cards are better PCI or AGP?
How to Check that I have PCI Express slot in my mainboard.. There are some of the slots on my board of white color. ARE they PCI Express slots. How to check?

You won't find a modern mobo that can support the CPU you currently have. The P4 Willamette core revision is too old and clunky. I suggest you just find a PCI vid card for your current system, and start over if you want to upgrade.

No, the white slots are PCI, not PCIe. PCIe slots are black and vary in length (depending on the number of lanes) and are not found on any mobo that would support your P4 1.7. PCIe is completely different from PCI, so there's no such thing as a PCI/PCIe hybrid slot.
