Do you have security settings in yoru router limiting connection via MAc Address,
What does the error log of the router say, does it even identifies that new adapter that it was tryingt o access it but was rejected or soemthing like that
Check the drivers from the device manager, you might have a bad adapter

Hi Flib Ive just posted an issue I have with my first adapter im trying to set up with a D-link 604 router. The adapter is a USB (with cradle) D-Link DWL-G122. I can seem to get connectivity even though I set SSID's and WEP on both router and G122 the same.
How did you set yours up. Sorry to divert you away from your little problem, buy maybe we can help each other here.
Thank

Does it work with the old cable but not with the new cable? Using USB for networking is just confusing as hell to me. I guess i need to look into it.

If you had a USB device that worked with two different laptops and now you cant get a new one to work I would:
1) Try the old device on a laptop, if it works
2) Try the new device on the same laptop. Unless you have done something wrong in the configuration, it should work or it may be defective. If it is, I would suggest you get a PCMCIAA card as opposed to USB.
USB is a dumb way to network hard wired and a dumber way wireless. You are adding a layer of complication to an already complicated undertaking. Also, it's slower......
