Do i need to run old virus pattern files, before updating to the FRESH NEW VIRUS PATTERN FILE?

Do the NEW PATTERN FILE contains the virus list that the older one had? or just the NEW Viruses that comes every month?

Yes, the new definitions give you protections up to the definitions date.

If it is an older scanning engine version, I remove the whole program via Add/Remove Programs and a registry sweep (note there are risks involved, backup is necessary). I just leave the files alone if they are current, less risk of breaking something and HDD space is relatively cheap these days.
