hey i just tried to upgrade my memory on my desktop i had 256 pc2700 and i added a gig to go with it but when i installed it i cant get my pc to boot up all i get is this beep and i tried taking it back out and putting the 256 back in and it does the same thing all i get is the beeping any help will be greatly appreciated :)

You might want to try and reseat your video card. Google for solutions as to what each beep means. When the PC boots, its looking for ramm and a video card. Hopefully this will point you in the right direction.

Chance are you just bumped something loose when you put the new ram in. Check all connections.

well ty for the ones that replied but i got if fixed i slapped a new mother board in it and went ahead and put another video card in and everything is running find :D thanks again for the one that offered their advice

Woah! That sure is a brute force fix if I ever heard one! Send me your old mobo and vid card! :p
