I'm having a problem I had a few months ago. My laptop will not pick up my router. It will not connect to the internet. I cannot remember what I did that fixed it last time. I do however, remember that I got the information off this site. I remember that someone told me I had to do a windows xp connection repair thing and I had to download it from site and that it fixed the problem. Can someone please help this newbie?

First see if there is a button that activates the wireless somewhere on your PC?

That is where you start...

Betsy , i had the same sort of problem. the hard wired LAN worked through the router ok but the wireless side of it didnt. i tried everything and nothing worked and then i found a tiny little reset button on the back of the router, held it in for 10 secs and it reset everything back to default settings and worked fine. Might help you ;)

Reset the router as a last resort. You will loose any security you have setup.

Check the error log of the router and see if you see something suspicious and let us know what you find.
Also check your wireless network card from device manager and see if everything is fine

Hey y'all, I uninstalled the driver for the card and reinstalled it and now everything works with that laptop. I'm now having problems with a computer at work. It is wired. And it is getting "limited or no connectivity". Do they ever end? Anyway, if you can help out with this problem, I'd be so grateful. Thanks!!!

Be more specific on the hardware and type of network that is set up and we may be able to help you.

Can you see other computers in you network neighbourhood?
