Ok, This weekend, I am going to perform Step Two of upgrading the PC I just built (my first build, and I skimped a bit) and build my stepdaughter a PC out of the old parts.

I want to pick up a new processor this weekend. Is it possible to just swap out processors or do I have to go through a huge procedure?

Well, you'll have to reclean your current CPU and apply new thermal grease for your stepdaughter's PC, but for your upgrade you can just take out it and slap the new one in. Then on the reboot, go into the BIOS and make sure the new CPU type & speed is recognized. And as long as you have WinXP, it should boot into Windows just fine.
