Got the new system up and running however it is running rather hot, i am looking into buying a new heatsink, I have the Abit AL8 motherboard. The heatsink i was looking at was this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118115) Is there anyway to know if this will fit without just buying it?

Is there anyway to know if this will fit without just buying it?Yeah, that's easy. Go to Zalman's site and look at the heatsink dimensions. Then measure the space on your mobo. If the space on your mobo is greater than the heatsink dimensions, it will fit!

I have that HSF and I love it. I have to offer some advice, though. Definitely check the Zalman site. They have a table/chart that lists compatible/incompatible mobos, as well as clearances required withing the case. Second, besides being big, that sucker weighs in at almost 2 pounds! That's wa, way over anybody's spec so be advised: this HSF should NOT be used on a PC that will be subject to being moved much--no LANBOYS, for example. Third, you'll have to mount the beast onto the socket/mobo outside the case becasue of the mounting bracket. Also, be ready to be surprised by the amount of force you have to use to clamp that puppy down...not really scary, but close.
Take those things into consideration and if your case and mobo are a fitting match with the 7700--AND--you'll not be moving the box much, go for it. I did and I have to say I'm completely satisfied.
