I plan on purchasing a new mobo for dual channel AMD 64 3000. SLI isn't necessary and I am not a gamer or overclocker. I do multiple applications at once and edit photos. I intend to buy Corsair DDS400 value RAM. How much RAM is ideal? 1GB, 2GB. Remember, it needs to work in dual channel. Thanks.

The 1GB dual-channel kits (2 x 512MB sticks) are less than $100. You won't need any more than that any time soon, and it doesn't make any sense to get less. RAM is cheap these days, so don't cripple your system by buying just barely enough.
