On a XP home machine I have a friend who deleted Norton security suite MANUALLY after losing their password. Wow. I can not believe it but the thing still runs good. Only one problem that the recycle bin still says Norton protected and it always looks for a program (now missing ) to open it. I tried to delete C/recycler in normal and safe modes to let windows rebuild it yet it has one folder in it that won't let you delete it saying it is in use and you can not open it either. Killbox needs to delete a file not a folder so I can not delete on reboot.
What is the trick or registry hack to remove the association of recycle bin to Norton and rest the windows default  ?

I finally found a possible reg fix at this link.

Does anyone have any experiences with it or any other rebuilding tricks?
