Nero 6 woes

The last few times I have used my Nero 6 Burning ROM it has been very slow to burn, wether it is burning CD ROM or audio. The recorder buffer level is very low, around 30% or so and drops from time to time to about 25% and then back up to 30% again. Burning an 80 minute audio disc at 24x speed used to take approx 5 minutes whereas now it will take anything up to and including 15 minutes. I don't know if someone has changed a setting or two in my absence because half of the settings I never took much notice of as the program was working fine.

You need to start with the usual suspects first. Please clean out your TEMP and TIF folders and then re-start.

Hey thanks. I looked in my TEMP folder and there was nothing there to delete and I couldn't find a folder named TIF to check! Just a thought but the minimum for cache size in Nero options is set to 16 megabytes... could that have something to do with it?

What OS are you running. There are mostly hidden files and folders.

You will need CCleaner or Eraser to clean it out. Please advise your OS....

XP Pro SP2. There are no hidden files that I can see either because the option to view them is ticked. I was thinking of uninstalling Nero and reinstalling to see if this will fix the problem.
