Using Linksys equipment, set up WEP security. When ever I start my laptop it searches for the network, finds it but doesnt connect. I go in and enter the wep key and it connects. Next time the same thing, shows a wep key is there but still wont work till I re-enter the key. It is not saving the key as far as I can tell.

So the wep key is there but you don't think it is saving it?

It is not saving it, it shows the 5 dots indicating it is saved but wont connect. I go in and enter the key again and it works.

Wrote a long bit then did some searching and found this
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.internet.wireless/browse_thread/thread/2c491d24a7c15921/d5bf5eb67e68558d%23d5bf5eb67e68558d?sa=X&oi=groupsr&start=0&num=3
might want to look at linksys first before we assume you have it configured wrong.

Tried the link you suggested, tried updating my adapter drivers. Still wont work. I think its a Microsoft issue. I worked it out by setting up WAP instead of WEP, better security anyway. Now the computer logs on automatically.
