sys stays on sometimes

sys at my work place -Dell Dimension #4300 with Win 98ME,(got it couple months ago and hard to get tech support from them, always on hold) having problem to shut down. Some times it does shuts down but some times it is on when I come back the next day to my surprise. Any suggestions? thanks.

Check the Bios settings for Power Up Control..
Wake on Lan, wake on Modem and AC Power Loss restart
Also the Automatic Power Up

Disable them.

Does this system have any of the file swapping (Music) software on it?
If so disable it or better yet remove it.

Win98se has a known shut down bug. There is patch available for it
