In case of spam

I was just wondering what I should do when i am the first person to come across some spam. I've seen members reply to the spam "moderators notified"

How do I help the board and notify mods?

You post a reply saying: "Mods notified" and then click on the triangle with the exclamation point in the right corner.... That will bring up a dialogue that you use to send a message which goes to all mods and admins.... It helps if you give us a clue about the problem with the post, but the title of the post is often enough for us to tell...

I am getting lots of SPAM now since I put my e-mail address on this site.
Is it possible to delete my e-mail address?

I don't see that you publicly posted your email here, so it is unlikely that this is the source of your problem... However, you do have the option for people to email you enabled in your preferences and it is possible for a SPAMmer to manually collect your email address that way... You can change that any time you would like by going to the Quick Links item on the menu at on this page and select Edit Options.... You control that, not us...

Keep in mind that anytime you make your email address available publicly on the web, there is a good chance that a SPAMmer will get it.... If one SPAMmer has it, it will almost certainly be sold to a number of others and each of them are likely to send you dozens of SPAM... Don't give it out freely and consider getting a throwaway account like a gmail to use in risky situations...

One last thing... Your question had nothing to do with the point of this thread and would normally be considered impolite to take over someone else's thread... In this case the thread is resolved, so it isn't a big deal, but I suggest starting your own thread next time...
