View Full Version : bootup welcome screen unwelcome

Using WinXP Pro.

I am the only user and as such I am also set as administrator.

One day I booted and I got the blue welcome screen.

I'm tired of it. How do I get the computer to simply boot to desktop so I don't have to click my user icon and wait for it to "load settings.."

There is a Powertoy available directly from Microsoft called TweakUI. It will allow auto logon, as well as a bunch of other tweaks. I've don't use this functionality because I think the password might be stored in a readable format in the registry. Doesn't make me much safer considering I just stayed logged in all the time anyway. Here's a link:
