Hopefully someone can help...
For some reason when I booted up my Compaq Presario 5BW127 today, it asked me to setup Windows 98SE again. I entered the product key. It took it. I then entered my network password, after which it told me "Explorer has done an illegal operation. Contact the vendor, etc." The details said that it was an invalid page fault. So, I visited Microsoft's website and got instructions to go to the command prompt and type in "ren c:\explorer.exe explorer.old". It told me it couldn't find the file. I rebooted the computer again, entered my password and now an MS-DOS box comes up in the background with the window "The file c:\explorer.exe is not a valid MS-DOS program. It may be damaged." Now what do I do??
