WMV files

I am hoping someone can help me with this. Recently, whenever I'm on a website somewhere and want to viewa .wmv video file, it downloads fine and everything but in Windows Media Player, no video shows up, just a black background, but there is sound. I then did an upgrade to Windows Media Player 10, no change. I have also tried playing the video with WinAmp. Still no video. I recently upgraded my video card from a Geforcefx 5900xt, to a Geforce 6800gt. I am wondering if this has anything to do with it? I'm stumped.

Try going to "Start->Run->type dxdiag in the "open" window->ok" to see if all's well with DirectX.

AAlso, once you get the video working.
Here's a nice free player that plays many video/audio formats.
VLC Media player.
Supports WMV too.

Actually everything is back to working fine now. Don't know what was causing the problem. Thanks for the replies though!!
