Hi all
Im not sure this should be posted here?
Im thinking of changing my Boot screen with a program called Style Xp and just wanted to know is changing my boot screen Dangerus?
as ive heard that i shouldnt mess around with the boot screen.

Come on guys although i dont know the answer myself i didnt think it would take this long for a reply considering how many members are in this forum.
This is the longest time ive ever had to wait for a reply :(

Very likely the fact that nobody has answered means that nobody has used that particular program.
I can only speculate, but my guess would be that changing the Boot screen--like to a different logo--would be harmless. My Asus mobo came with a utility to do just that. I didn't use it but I did eliminate the Asus logo and enable all post messages so I could see what's going on.

If you're just looking to change your boot screen, that's really easy. I've never heard of Style XP, but feel that free apps for very simple tasks are usually suspect. A quick Google search returned the instructions for modifying your Boot.ini file

Use this switch to have Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 display an installable splash screen instead of the standard splash screen. First, create a 16-color (any 16 colors) 640x480 bitmap and save it in the Windows directory with the name Boot.bmp. Then add "/bootlogo /noguiboot" to the boot.ini selection.
