Hello, Everyone: When i click the start button and go to Programs on my XP Home Edition, Three rows of files etc. come up! The third row ALL the way to the right, I can just about see! Is there anyway of moving the screen over to my left to view the contents better? I tried to put the pointer over at the edge thinking it would turn into an arrow and then i could move it over manually but it just takes the Whole screen off! If anyone has any idea's i would appreciate it very much, Tom

Why not try removing a few programs from the start menu or simply increase the screen resolution by going into Control Panel - Display - Settings.

One of the best ways to organize all those programs is to create new folder on the start menu.
For example a Graphics Folder, a Web Folder, One for Kids.
Then move the program icons into those folders.
This in effect creates sub menus.
Place all the graphics programs in the graphics folder. The Web related stuff in the web folder
The kids stuff in the Kids folder.
You can reduce those 3 columns of program icons to one short one.

Also With that many programs listed I have to ask Are they All still Installed?
If not then Delete the links / icons to programs that have been removed.

Start by doing a Right click on the start button.
Then select Explorer all Users from the pop up menu
This will open an explorer window showing the contents of the start menu used for all users.
Double click on the Programs Icon.

You will now see the complete list of folders and items in the programs start menu
You can create new folders in this area using the “File” menu then “New - Folder”
it will display a new folder and the name will be highlighted. “New Folder”
Just type in the new name you want to use.

You can use what ever folder names you prefer.
Once you create a new folder for example Graphics
You can then click on any and all program icons and or folders you want in that Graphics folder
Drag and drop them into it.

I recommend doing the sorting in a logical order that will help you keep tract of what is where.
Games, Kids, Educational, tool, web, Dads, Moms,

If you have the system setup for multiple profiles you can also limit the programs displayed for each profile by moving them to that Profiles Start menu.

If you want detailed info and the easiest way to do this let me know and I will post some

You can also "Scroll" your programs in the start menu. (Sorry, I might be missing something here) Anyway, right click on the task bar, properties, start menu, customize, advanced, and check the box that says "Scroll programs". I like it this way, everything is in one column and moving the pointer over the top(or bottom) of your programs will scroll and show you the hidden stuff.

After looking over CPU's and Rick's idea's (which are very good) by the way, I thought i would try jabarnutcase idea for awhile,it looks pretty good! I will store all the solutions after printing them out and perhaps try them in the future. Thank you very much (all of you) for your help, Tom
