There are a number of places that you can download music legally. Napster and apple iTunes are the ones that spring to mind.

If you want to do it illegaly, you're on your own.

If you're simply asking for a good P2P software, then I'd suggest LimeWire. You will be asked to veryify that you won't use the service for pirating, though.
