Am I reading this right? Quad video cards and dual GPU's? 4 PCIe x16 slots!

Saw that at Tom's Hardware. They got 10 monitors off of it!!! (4PCIe+1PCI.)

Turn your central heating off - you ain't gonna need it! this is getting silly :D
It would be nice to see multiple cores on one card (if that is feasible with PCI express) I dread to think what the heat output or power drain is going to be with anything like this (never mind the cost!)

You want multiple GPUs on one card? YOU GOT IT!! Dual 7800s on one huge PCIe16 brought to by Asus: http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=175&type=expert

I guess this PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?submit=PROPERTY&SubCategory=58&propertycodevalue=1314:14179&bop=and&Order=priceD) will have to be at the top of the list for purchase also. ;) Now to figure out a good case with adequate airflow for all of this.
Also, all of you hard-core hardware freaks who plan on going this route, send me the name of your electric company so I can buy stock in it! :D

Actually, if you read the article, Asus includes an external power supply just for that beast. The card burns 157 watts at idle and 244 watts under load!
Can you say "brown out in L.A."?

Hi there
In this link http://www.ocheaven.com/readvarticle_en.asp?id=987
there is a list of specs one of them is RFID: YES
What is that?
The same RFID used in shipping, pets, People? If so, why?
Or is it this: Assembler Language Reference - rfid (Return from Interrupt Double Word) Instruction purpose.

Oh wow! This sort of stuff is insane! I think I'll skip it for now, though. A year from now we'll all be able to buy vid cards that put the 7800 GTX and X1800 to shame. Such is the result of progress. And make no mistake - vid cards are improving the fastest right now! Quad-core CPU's pale in comparison to how far vid cards have come in the last 10 years. Check the history books - the first 3D hardware vid card was released in 1997. Makes you think, huh? ;)

Or is it this: Assembler Language Reference - rfid (Return from Interrupt Double Word) Instruction purpose.I searched and searched but couldn't find anything. The "Quad Royal" mobo isn't even listed on Gigabyte's website. I doubt this is a reference to the anti-theft RFID model, but it could very well be a reference to the 64-bit Assembler instruction in relation to operating in 64-bit mode. At least, that's the best lead I've seen so far.
EDIT - Followed some of the links and came across this (http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=465) - an article on OC'ing the PD 820 & X2-4400+. Very interesting results, and the conclusion is well thought out and quite accurate for the current market. It will be interesting to see how things change in 6 months when Intel's new CPU's (which I'm calling "X2-killers" right now) are released. I wonder what AMD has up their sleeves for the next 9 months or so...

If you were referring to the PC Power & Cooling TURBO-COOL 850 SSI (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817703002) check out its big brother the PC Power and Cooling Turbo-Cool 1KW (1000) SSI (http://www.frozencpu.com/psu-176.html) it is available for preorder for $499.99

The spec chart was for vendor use
This is the same RFID used in shipping, pets, People.
It is also sometimes used in merchandise control systems in retail stores. This motherboard is a high value item and has an RFID device incorporated into the packaging of the item. In most cases the manufacturer of a product is responsible for including merchandise control devices in high value items and charge the retailer a fee for this service.
RFID is also used in inventory control systems.
Imagine working in a Newegg warehouse, you walk up to a bin, scan it with a RFID reader and it tells you how many Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Quad Royal motherboards that are in stock, how many that have been sold, and how many that have been shipped, plus a host of other information about the item
BTW I don't know if Newegg uses RFID to track inventory it was just an example.
I do know when I purchased my Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard from Newegg it had an RFID device inside of the box.

Hehehe, It is ridiculous. What game out there right now could benefit from 4 7800's?? Or two dual core 7800's??
It is very cool to look at though. But it's nothing more than the guy who had something over a 100 OS's installed on one computer. You know there was a few guys sitting around from Gigabyte drinking a few beers, one said "I could do that", the other said "no way", and then there was a bet for a twelve pack. :p

It's all about the future, man :) I got a better question for you: what would a game look like that does use all of that power? :D

Well with a quad core CPUs and 2 SLI 7800Gt Dual cores might change that soon. . .

Not like a game. Like Hockeyman said, it would look like your controlling a movie.
I still think four x16b slots was over a 12 pack. :p They have two dual core 7800's in the same board. Seems to me that would be more powerful than four singles. ;)
It's still cool though. It's like a monster truck. No real use other than for show, but cool none the less. :D
