I play World of Warcraft (great game btw if you got the time and cash). And recently the computer started to appear in clue screen

The error message on the blue screen was:
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates that it might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000012,0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x000000012)

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact you system administrator or technical support group for further assistance

and notice that all my other games are fine, and it all started when i'm using the games downloader to to downloading patch. and the time the computer takes before restarting varies.

it all started when i'm using the games downloader to to downloading patch.
Does the problem happen only when d/l gaming patches, or also at other times?
If it happens at other times, then when?

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall the game? Then possibly download patches from an alternate mirror?

Most blue screens are driver related. Have you leaded any new drivers for your video card?

Hey thanks for the replies, i have reinstall the game, i have updated all my drivers and it does not happen during any other games. the time it takes to crash may vary, like sometime immediately after loading and other times i can play for half hour. and i did not change anything to my computer, it just started happening one day...
It only happens when i'm using their downloader and during the game, nowhere else.. yet.

That stop error can also come up if there's a RAM problem. So it might be advisable to check with memtest86(available at memtest86.com). You'd download to a floppy or burn onto a CD, then make sure you change the booting sequence in the BIOS setup to start with whichever device you then have the program on.

Nope, thanks for the help and i tried that, it says my memory is fine. I donno if this is related or not, everytime i use System Restore, the windows error message comes up. The one that says do you want to send report to microsoft. I click send and it tells me the error is related to an983.sys (my network card driver) and i tried to fix it but can't, the driver won't update.

Remove the network card from Device Manager, shut down the system, remove the network card from the computer, restart, and see if the same problem happens with the W of W game.
If that works, then there may have been a conflict between the network card and some other component on your system, like the video card or sound card. Check the network card's manuf's site for an updated driver. If you find one, then reinstall the network card using the new driver.

I can't remove the network card becasue the intergrated one won't work. Computer says it's working fine, but it simply will not connect to internet. i tried a newer driver and it still will not... the name of the card is VIA fast ethernet adapter.
BTW the game requires internet.

Can you disable the integrated network card in BIOS?
