I sometimes use System Restore for Windows, and recently when i do so, it tells me that system has recovered from a critical error (every time) and when i search the microsoft website they tell me AN983.SYS which is my network card driver.
I downloaded a new one, unzipped and used device manager to try to apply it. but no matter what i do, i can't get it to do what i want. I click on update driver and choose the specific location i have it unzipped to.. but it searched and can't find anything, so i use the other option of letting me choose from a list. I choose the one, but the version is not the same. one is 2.12 the other is 2.21.
the network card driver i'm using is ADMtek AN983 based ethernet adapter. Please can anyone help walk me through the exact step of how to install a network card driver after unzipped.
