Will the Intel 2100 (which is legacy 11b if im not mistaken) work with a d-link 11g card in another comp? I assume if the d-link is 11/b/g I'm ok.

I believe you are correct, they are backwards compatible...speed of course would correspond to the slowest common denominator...:)
