The computer worked fine until now. Did not install or change anything but suddenly, on boot, it does not see the two hard drives. Can't get past first screen and it will not let me into the bios. Any ideas. Thanks, Rick Axenson

Rick, posting your e-mail is asking for spam. The mods will probably edit that out. Also, you should have started your own thread. The "Windows" area might be the best for it.

Rick, welcome to pc guide. It's a great place to browse if you are studying, but remember, you have to do your own homework! Best of luck to you!

Try removing the ribbon cables from both drives and see if you can then get into the BIOS. If so then add back each drive on its own and see if you can get into the BIOS with both of them singly. If you can identify a bad drive, bad cable or bad connection you are halfway home.

What I would have done in this situation [if I could get to the point of booting a floppy]:
1. Boot from the HDD manufacturers utilities floppy and see if it could see and test the HDD's.
2. Boot any of a number of programs on bootable floppies CD's and see if the HDD's and contents could be seen.
