For gaming, any AMD equivelent is better than Intel. The 3500+ basically means that it is equivalent to an Intel 3.5. However, AMDs do have an edge in games.

Yeah, pretty much. Except Intel doesn't make a 3.5GHz P4, so the 3500+ Venice would be in between a P4 3.4 and a P4 3.6.
