i have a video driver problem. i reinstalled my operating system after internet explorer crashed it, and it reverted back to the standard driver. i knew it was an ATI video card so i chose which one i thought was the right one. BIG mistake. after i rebooted the screen was blank. anyone know what to do? my computer is an HP Pavilion 6355. i have Windows 98 and Windows 2000 together in a dual boot configuration. im having the problem in Windows 98.

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

You might want to try tapping F8 or whatever key will enable you to select booting into SAFEMODE...

Once there, head for Device Manager and click on the + of the display adapter. This should open up the installed display adapter. Highlight this a click on the Remove below. If more than one is showing remove it also.

Reboot...

Hopefully, the BIOS VGA drivers will then load. Your screen will of course be pretty coarse, just as it would before you load the Windows drivers...hopefully, the correct ones...

Once you PC is working as you like, set up a system of backup and restore.
You will never have such problems ever again.
If your software isn't as you like, just restore a suitable backup and whoosh, you're software is back to the way it used to be.
