No POST!!

Hi!
I'm just working on a friends' PC and it won't POST. It is a Compaq Presario with a AMD Athlon Processor, 512 megs of RAM, a UWAVE mobo, a 250 W PSU, and 20 gig HDD. I have swapped the PSU, re-arranged RAM modules, cleared the CMOS, changed the CMOS battery, and checked the video card (even swapped ot too). After all this, the silly little box still won't boot. Could anybody help me and maybe point out any important steps I may be missing? Thanks so much

Hi there,
It is a Presario 5000, and I cannot enter setup. When I power on, I don't the monitor won't even get initialized by the video card, thus no output to the screen.

If the fans and lights do not work, then suspect the power supply, power on button, surge arrestor, power cable, wall outlet, etc.
If they work, then either the memory or the motherboard may be defective.
Also, did you make sure the memory and video card are fully inserted?
