D:\ is not accessible incorrect function

I get this error whenever I go to My Computer>D Drive to open, with a DVD in the tray. I removed the DVD, put in a CD that had files on it and it opened right up. I put the DVD in again and got the same error. It is a DVD+R DL rewritable drive. The purpose of the disc is for Genie Backup to write to it weekly. The scheduled Tasks says that it is doing the backup but I can't view the files. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Thanks....

Try this if you're runnin a version of XP:

Right-Click on the drive w/ the problem
Properties
Recording Tab
and then check the "Enable CD Recording On This Drive" box.
