Is it possible in any way to connect a dvd player to a comupter without a tv video card(or whatever you call it) and just play it out of your regualr video card. I got a Nvidia geforce 4 with AGP8X.

Are you asking about a stand-alone dvd player, such as one designed for a home entertainment center? As pave_spectre mentioned, that won't work without a specialized video card. Any el cheapo IDE dvd-rom drive should work just fine though. The standard IDE cable will get a/v signal to your system, and you'll be able to playback through your Nvidia just fine. Right now NewEgg is offering a dvd-rom/cd burner with nero and dvd playback software, for less than $30.

Here's a link if you want it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106995

"INLINE" makes a lot of pc/video devices. I have a product of theirs that has a VGA out to your monitor, and allows inputs of composite, s-video, and BNC... So you're using your monitor like a TV with any DVD player you want... but not at the same time you use your computer... if that's what you're going for, why not just buy a DVDROM drive?
