Computer constantly reboots

:confused: I was trying to help a friend and loaded Safeworld Spam Blocker on her computer. She is running Windows 2000. After installation it told me to reboot, and we did. But now the computer gets to the point where it says it is loading the personal settings and then re-boots. I went into SAFE MODE and tried to uninstall Safeworld, but I get an error about my Windows Installer. Also we thought about just installing Windows XP but the computer won't let me in SAFE MODE because of the Window Installer error. I've got some info on the error from the Microsoft website and will try it later. Any other ideas for me to try?

Press and hold the F8 key during startup, and see if running 'Last known good configuration' helps.

Ski, Tried that to begin with. No luck. Is there any way to install a clean version of Windows in SAFE MODE? I looked at the BIOS and it said that the 1st boot was from the CDROM, but it seemed to skip right over it. I'll take another look at it when I go to her house in a few minutes.

What is the exact text of the Windows Installer message?

"The Windows Installer service could not be accessed" error message when I tried to uninstall Safeworld. Then when I tried to install a new version of Windows off the CDROM, it gave me the same message. I thought if I could possibly get rid of Safeworld then maybe it would go back to the way it was. I have already printed out the support pages for this error off the Microsoft webpage and I'm going to try it when I get to her house. Just thought there might be an easier way to get rid of Safeworld or just reinstall windows.
